Beaches of Los Cristianos

There are three beaches in Los Cristianos: two world-class white sand beaches – Playa de los Cristianos and the Playa de las Vistas (both of which are monitored by Red Cross lifeguards and local police patrols), and one smaller black sand beach.

Playa de los Cristianos

This large white sand beach that expands over a length of 975 meters and a width of 40 meters, has open-air bars, restaurants, children's play areas, showers, toilets, and more dotted along it. Its waters are calm, due to its sheltered bay location (protected by its harbour) and so offer the ideal setting for all sorts of water sports – from swimming and snorkeling, to banana-boat riding and sailing.

Playa de las Vistas

This splendid white sand beach (850 meters in length and 127 meters in width) adjacent to the Los Cristianos beach also has wonderfully calm waters to offer due to the man-made break-waters at its sides. This allows for an equally wide range of water sports to be practiced, as well as beach activities such as beach volleyball. There are also showers and a tourist information bureau at your disposal. The Los Cristianos promenade, which stretches over Las Vistas beach to Playa de las Américas (the longest barrier-free promenade in Europe), is ideal for a relaxing stroll while watching the ferries commute between Tenerife and La Gomera, El Hierro, and La Palma.

Nudist beach in Los Cristianos

This black volcano pebble beach is accessible on foot via a short walk past the Arona Gran Hotel, towards the cliffs of the Montaña Guaza. A brisk 30-minute walk up those cliffs reveals magnificent views of the bay, and there are even nice ones if you continue for an extra 10 minutes – make sure to bring sturdy footwear, though.
